Our Head Upholsterer and tutor is Geraldine Gunner. She has both Upholstery and Soft Furnishings qualifications including obtaining an HND with distinction in Traditional Upholstery at Bishop Burton College, Beverley in Yorkshire.

Geraldine runs the business in a very friendly, relaxed manner and is happy to come out and give you no-obligation quotes, in your own home in the Lincoln Area and Newark Area.

Geraldine also runs courses at Country House Hotels and is able to arrange tailor made Upholstery or Caning Courses at the Hotel of your choice. If you prefer, the accommodation can be at a local Bed and Breakfast.

Geraldine is very passionate about her business and really enjoys passing on her Upholstery skills to her students. Geraldine also supports the St Barnabas Hospice, donating prizes to the Branston Hall Hotel Ball and attending all their Craft Fair Events. She is a friend of Tempo Promotes and tries to be at all their Craft Events in the Lincoln Area.

One of the differences from other upholsterers/soft furnishing providers is that Geraldine is very ’green’ trying to find outlets for all her remnants, be it top fabric, calico, Hessian, cotton flocking or polyester wadding. St Barnabas Hospice has some of the Top Fabric to make into doorstops etc. Other remnants get made into ‘green’ bags to be used in charity shops rather than plastic bags. Another friend makes little quilted boxes out of the Top Fabric, curtain lining and polyester wadding.

One of the reasons Geraldine was attracted to Upholstery was the recycling aspect of the business.
